United Way Impacts:
Children ◊ Families ◊ Community
Following a
record-breaking 2007 Campaign, this year’s funding allocations once
again proved higher than ever in our local United Way’s history. In
addition to the funding of 44 programs, including 1 that was new
this year, there were also 2 Community Impact programs funded.
Below are two charts that
reflect allocations recommended by the Community Investment
Committee and approved by the United Way of Amarillo & Canyon
Governing Board of Directors for the fiscal year of April 2008 -
March 2009 in the amount of $2,867,442.
In addition, donor directed
designations to Program Providers totaled $316,828 while
designations to non-program provider charitable organizations
totaled $283,949. Ticket sales for the 2007 Toot’n Totum Ford
Mustang Give-away raised $67,400. Of that, $31,570 went to the
allocation process and $35,830 went directly to the agencies.
