2011 DAY OF CARING
to benefit Guyon Saunders Resource Center

WHEN: Friday, June 17th 8AM - 3PM
8:00- Registration, Team Assignment and Breakfast
8:30 - Opening Ceremony followed by a day of Team Projects

All volunteers will get breakfast, lunch, snacks and a Day of Caring T-shirt!

WHERE: Guyon Saunders Resource Center (GSRC), 200 S. Tyler St.

WHY: United Way's Day of Caring gives more than volunteers the hands-on satisfaction of making a true difference in just one day! The improvements made to the Guyon Saunders Resource Center will benefit the hundreds of consumers who access its services each month - from the homeless or at-risk families who utilize the Children and Families Day Room, to the elderly and handicapped who get much of their nutritional needs met at the Interfaith Hunger Project.

HOW: 450 local volunteers, many representing a large number of Amarillo and Canyon businesses, will be enhancing the interior and grounds of the GSRC. Almost 20 teams led by Project Captains will direct the efforts to accomplish everything from power-washing the exterior of the building, to reupholstering existing furniture and painting the interior of the facility, to cleaning and sanitizing toys, play equipment and mats in the Children and Families Day Room.
